  • Jacoby Thwaites

    Founder, CEO

    Jacoby was until 2002 CEO of software company Michaelhouse which developed and sold systems to global insurers such as Prudential and QBE. In 2006 he co-founded mashup pioneer Teqlo Inc in California; then joined core engineering at Google where he was responsible for AdSense Engineering in London until 2011. In 2012 he founded SPARKL in the UK to develop and market the new Sequencing Engine technology.

  • Tony Shearer

    Chairman

    Tony, FCA, was until 2005 Chief Executive of Singer & Friedlander Group plc, before which he held a number of senior executive roles in leading financial institutions including Finance Director and Chief Operating Officer of M&G Group plc and Deputy Chief Executive of Old Mutual International. Tony is, and has been, non-executive chairman or a non-executive director of a number of companies, including other AIM, and UK Official List companies.

  • Dr Andrew Farrell

    Engineering Lead

    Andrew has spent much of his career working in commercially-focussed R&D labs. After work on MPEG-4 video standardization, contributing to the implementation of reference software, Andrew spent a number of years at HP Labs in Bristol, carrying out research in Cloud Computing and building platforms for cloud services. He holds a PhD in Advanced Computing from Imperial College London, and has a special interest in security systems and methods.

  • Andy Yeo

    Engineering

    Andy leads front-end engineering at SPARKL, bringing 20+ years experience of software development and architecture gained in both the commercial and public sectors. In the 4 years prior to joining SPARKL, Andy worked for the UK Houses of Parliament on their web systems and cloud hosting architectures.

  • Yevheniy Vlasenko

    Engineering

    A Computer Science graduate of Chernihiv State Technological University in Ukraine, Yevheniy completed his MSc in Computer Security at the University of Birmingham, UK. He's worked on systems including a ballistic artillery simulator and brings a unique combination of technical skills to the team.
